ABOUT
HIROMI 'S MUSIC STUDIO
Hiromi’s Music Studio is a unique learning environment. Hiromi coaches students on how to play their instrument better, but he also guides them on their approach to music in general. With this in mind, Hiromi is able to increase musical expression with any instrument.
This studio specializes in art music, including the reading of of written music and rhythm in time. We teach the basic "law" of musical expression through a medium of any musical instrument, especially wind instrument.
HIROMI TAKAHASHI
Hiromi Takahashi studied with the late Perry W. Bauman and subsequently with the late Marc Lifschey, so he’s had some experience with good teachers.
He began playing the oboe professionally in the early 1970s, and now teaches other music students at his Edmonton studio.
Hiromi has played around the world and has taught all throughout Canada, including stints at post-secondary institutions in Alberta and Saskatchewan. He's performed in operas, ballets, symphony orchestras and musical theatre. Hiromi’s Music Studio teaches students how to read music and rhythm, and encourages them to avoid errors of the “this-is-how-I-hear-it” concept.
